Common questions
Does duct cleaning prevent health problems?
The EPA says duct cleaning has never been shown to prevent health problems. It recommends cleaning only as needed, not as routine maintenance.
When should I consider it?
The EPA lists three signs: substantial visible mold growth inside hard-surface ducts or on other parts of the system, an infestation of rodents or insects, or ducts so clogged with dust and debris that particles are released into the home from your vents.
Why does mold come back?
Mold needs moisture. The EPA says that if the moisture problem is not fixed, mold will return after cleaning.
What should I watch for when hiring?
The EPA advises against companies that make sweeping health claims, push duct cleaning as routine maintenance, or say they are “certified by EPA.”
How much does it cost?
